We are seeking a seasoned SEN tribunal officer to support our local authority with a high-volume caseload of SEND appeals. As an experienced professional in this field, you will be responsible for managing complex EHCP appeals, attending and representing the local authority at SEND tribunal hearings, and liaising effectively with legal teams and professionals across education, health and social care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of approximately 30–40 tribunal cases, ensuring full compliance with statutory deadlines and tribunal directions in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
- Represent the local authority at SEND Tribunal hearings, providing high-quality written submissions, case summaries and evidence bundles as required.
- Liaise effectively with legal teams and professionals across education, health and social care to ensure seamless collaboration and effective dispute resolution.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong working knowledge of SEND legislation.
- Proven experience managing complex EHCP appeals.
- Confident communicator with experience supporting mediation and dispute resolution.
