The role of the Research Associate will be to contribute to a BBSRC-funded project focusing on studying microbial mercury methylation across prokaryotes. The successful candidate will work alongside an established research team, applying phylogenetic and comparative genomic methods to study the mechanisms underlying microbial mercury methylation.

The postholder will be responsible for analysing large datasets, reconstructing ancestral gene content and investigating metabolic pathways evolution in relation to mercury methylation processes.
