We are seeking a reliable and caring individual to join our team as a Student Transport Assistant. As part of this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of children to and from schools, colleges and contact centres. You will work closely with drivers employed by transport providers to ensure pupils are safely secured in vehicles. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently but also values teamwork. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people.
The Integrated Transport Unit transports approximately 650 pupils daily aged 2-25 years old to schools, colleges and contact centres. The majority of pupils go to school in Portsmouth but some travel further afield such as Fareham, Stubbington, Waterlooville, and Southampton. You must ensure that all pupils under your care receive support during their journey while maintaining order on board. The primary responsibility lies with pupil behaviour management while utilizing available resources effectively including specialist equipment when necessary (e.g., car seats or wheelchair restraints).
