We are seeking a skilled Power Electronics Design Engineer to lead the design and development of bespoke power conversion solutions. As Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing concurrent projects from in-house designs to outsourced specifications and management. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer with expertise in power architectures, transmission, conversion, and distribution. You will work on designing robust and reliable power systems that meet our business needs through innovation, creativity, and professionalism.
Requirements:
- A degree or equivalent experience in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
- Excellent theoretical knowledge backed up by proven hands-on experience with various types of DC-DC converters like buck/boost/flyback/LCC/full-bridge as well as AC converter techniques such as single/multiphase/power factor correction.
- Good understanding of thermal management principles including heat sinks, chambers, radiators, and cooling methods.
The Role:
- Responsible for full-lifecycle design & implementation including successful delivery into products.
- Leading small multi-disciplinary teams showing strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A product-focused mindset taking view across different engineering disciplines delivering appropriate solutions given unique challenges.
- Working knowledge of motor design control techniques including modelling simulation packages, digital/analogue concepts, filter design, and control systems for power conversion/voltage/current conversions.
- Expertise in thermal management techniques is also expected.
- Proven experience using electronic components such as MOSFET, IGBT, SiC FET, GaN FET, and SIGC.
- Understanding and solving formulas/models (COMSOL Methods of Complex Engineering).
- High electric voltages (kV) and multi kW power technology is required.
- Experience in specifying and signing custom transformer and magnetic components.
- Experience in case modelling simulations, high voltage experience, thermal modelling equipment, pattern testing, and product discovery acceleration analysis integration testing.
