We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Aquatic Ecologist to join our team in the UK. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in freshwater and marine ecology, with a strong knowledge of UK and European aquatic legislation. As a senior member of our team, you will be responsible for leading field surveys in various aquatic environments, managing ecological assessments, and providing expert advice on project feasibility. You will also support junior team members and contribute to business development efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead aquatic field surveys in freshwater and marine environments
- Manage ecological assessments including PEAs, EIAs, HRAs, WFD Assessments and marine assessments
- Provide specialist aquatic ecology inputs across all project stages from bidding to detailed design
Requirements:
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A degree (BSc or MSc) in freshwater biology, marine biology or a related discipline
- Prior experience working as an aquatic ecologist with at least 5 years' worth of professional qualifications regarding environmental regulations such as HRA processes
- Strong report writing skills & effective communication with colleagues/project stakeholders/policymakers/press officers/clerks/participants/residents etc
