Optegra has an exciting new opportunity for a Speciality Doctor with experience in ophthalmology, particularly in managing glaucoma cases to join our amazing and supportive team in our Whiteley Eye Hospital. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our NHS medical glaucoma service, providing both clinical and surgical assistance. This position requires a compassionate professional with a deep understanding of glaucoma management and patient care.Key Responsibilities:- Diagnose, evaluate and manage patients with existing and undiagnosed glaucoma along with other ocular conditions.- Perform diagnostic tests and procedures such as visual field assessments, optical coherence tomography (OCT), volk, CCT and gonioscopy.- Provide management plans for existing Glaucoma referrals- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients.- Collaborate with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to service development initiatives.- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding glaucoma management and treatment options.What You\’ll Need- Medical degree from a recognized university- Valid GMC registration with a license to practice in UK- Experience in ophthalmology, particularly in managing glaucoma cases and ability to work independently- UK NHS Glaucoma clinic experience- Gonioscopy experience- SLT laser experience- Excellent diagnostic and clinical skills.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.If this sounds like you, please get in touch with us by applying for the role.You\’ll see and feel the Optegra difference when you walk through the door – and you\’ll have every opportunity to really make a difference.
