Job OpportunityWork as a Principal Engineer in a hybrid environment with flexibility to work from Barrow-In-Furness or Glasgow.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure the submarine design is safe, operable and habitable for its crew by reviewing and assessing the developing Submarine design through attendance at design reviews, review of 3D CAD model and participation in experimental design and user trials.Provide specialist support to safety activities such as HAZID, HAZOPS and ALARP Optioneering workshops.Deliver expert guidance and support to Operating Documentation Production Authority in support of OPDOC derivation and verification.Required Skills and QualificationsExperience in one of the following disciplines: Manoeuvring Room/Cat A Nuclear Supervisor, Reactor Panel Operator/Main Control Desk Operator.Knowledge across any of the following disciplines: Electrical Generation & Distribution, Ship & Propulsion Systems.Operational knowledge serving on the Astute (preferred) or Vanguard Class of Submarine.BenefitsA competitive pension scheme.Employee share plans.An extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits including a green car scheme and private health plans.Why this role?This role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative and inclusive environment.
