Job Summary: Provide a client‑focused human resources service to all managers and staff globally, supporting Beazley’s business objectives. This Senior HRBP role primarily partners with the Finance and Risk & Compliance functions, while also acting as the European Business Partner, supporting engagement and alignment with all European countries on Europe‑related matters. Proactively work as part of the global P&S team.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy and advice
- Build strong working relationships with the business and across P&S to ensure needs are met.
- Lead P&S partnership for Finance and Risk & Compliance, working closely with senior leaders as required.
- Work closely with European country managers and senior leaders to support European initiatives and engagement.
- Forge strong relationships with senior executive leadership and support their priorities and needs whilst aligning and coaching them to understand and drive forward the people priorities and strategic initiatives.
- Represent P&S people solutions and the wider function at leadership and/or regional committees as required to bring global initiatives to the business.
- Represent Beazley plc externally to customers, the industry, and other organisations, to ensure that its reputation and capabilities are positively perceived.
- Act as an internal adviser to the business, providing knowledge, solutions and advice on people related matters.
- Build strong working relationships with key business areas and develop strong product knowledge of business and product lines.
- Maintain a clear understanding of Beazley’s growth strategy and conduct organisation design and workforce planning with line managers, ensuring these are aligned to the wider people strategy and working with the rest of P&S as appropriate.
- Keep the rest of the Business Partnering team, and wider P&S team, up to date on developments in your business area, discussing trends and concerns as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain constructive relationships with peers in organisations similar to Beazley in order to share information and ideas in an appropriate manner.
- Delivery
- Monitor and advise on headcount across underwriting and during the annual business planning process, working with the BPs to support workforce planning and resourcing decisions accordingly.
- Draw on specialism from CoEs and work with Advisory and Operational teams to drive efficiencies in service delivery for their business area.
- Support the delivery of the annual pay review process, ensuring that the business are making sound decisions in allocating reward and recognising talent.
- Regularly meet with business unit leaders to keep your "finger on the pulse" of any people related issues, both current and upcoming, and work with the People Lead UK and other BPs to assess themes and develop the wider people strategy.
- Monitor and collect MI, noting internal and external trends, and using these to proactively inform P&S strategy.
- Support managers to appropriately assess their talent and ensure that they are having effective development conversations, supporting career progression and succession planning within their team and at executive level as required.
- Keep up to date and curious on employment law updates affecting the business.
- Change Management
- Lead Organisation Design (OD) projects for your business area and develop Beazley’s approach to OD, including all associated frameworks, playbooks and toolkits.
- Run change programmes as required within a fast‑paced environment, ensuring that a balance is always made between the needs of the business and the employee experience.
- Work with the internal communications teams, and external where required, to ensure that they are aligned on any change being undertaken and the Beazley brand is embedded throughout the process.
- Facilitate change across the business at all levels, from small scale cultural/mindset changes to larger scale redundancies/restructures, ensuring any change is embedded and appropriate mechanisms are in place to assess its effectiveness going forward.
- Work on complex projects as required by the People Lead UK on an ad hoc basis.
- Team Leadership and Management
- With the People Lead develop the BP team, reviewing and assessing the resources and skills needed for the team to be successful and providing leadership and direction across the team.
