Job Summary: The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing Beazley’s reserving capability, with a focus on the development and enhancement of reserving processes, tools and methodologies. Working closely with the wider team, they will help shape and embed a modern reserving infrastructure that is robust, scalable and built for the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support the ongoing evolution of reserving processes towards automated, scalable and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Develop and enhance reserving processes, tools and methodologies, ensuring they are robust and aligned with business needs.
  • Design, build and maintain reserving workflows and tooling (including Python and Unify), acting as a subject matter expert and supporting adoption across the team.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects and initiatives, applying technical expertise to solve complex reserving and data challenges.
  • Provide technical guidance to the wider reserving team, with a focus on workflows, coding best practice, and improving process efficiency.
  • Maintain clear documentation and ensure appropriate governance and sign-off processes are followed.
  • Keep abreast of industry best practice in automation and the application of AI within reserving.
  • Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders across actuarial, finance and technology teams.
  • Contribute to team objectives through effective collaboration and delivery.
  • Undertake applicable professional, technical and career development training (delivered internally and externally) to include attainment of associated qualifications where required.

  • Reserving experience; Lloyd’s market knowledge desirable.
  • Understanding of modern reserving processes and automation concepts.
  • Experience developing, coding and testing actuarial models, workflows or data processes.
  • Understanding of reinsurance.
