The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing Beazley’s reserving capability, with a focus on the development and enhancement of reserving processes, tools and methodologies. Working closely with the wider team, they will help shape and embed a modern reserving infrastructure that is robust, scalable and built for the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the ongoing evolution of reserving processes towards automated, scalable and AI-enabled solutions.
- Develop and enhance reserving processes, tools and methodologies, ensuring they are robust and aligned with business needs.
- Design, build and maintain reserving workflows and tooling (including Python and Unify), acting as a subject matter expert and supporting adoption across the team.
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects and initiatives, applying technical expertise to solve complex reserving and data challenges.
- Provide technical guidance to the wider reserving team, with a focus on workflows, coding best practice, and improving process efficiency.
- Maintain clear documentation and ensure appropriate governance and sign-off processes are followed.
- Keep abreast of industry best practice in automation and the application of AI within reserving.
- Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders across actuarial, finance and technology teams.
- Contribute to team objectives through effective collaboration and delivery.
- Undertake applicable professional, technical and career development training (delivered internally and externally) to include attainment of associated qualifications where required.

Essential Criteria
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Experience gained within the insurance sector.
- University degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Data Science or related field.
- Professional actuarial qualification (or making good progress toward qualification).
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in SQL (desirable).
- Experience developing and maintaining Unify workflows (desirable).
- Experience building Power BI dashboards and data models (desirable).
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills; high attention to detail.
