The IT Outsourcing Commercial Manager leads the commercial delivery of strategic third party outsourcing programme, ensuring contracts drive value, performance, and compliance. Job Description:
The IT Outsourcing Commercial Manager is responsible for ensuring the integrity, performance, and value of contractual agreements in our strategic third party outsourcing programme. As the subject matter expert on contract terms and frameworks, they oversee negotiations, financial governance, supplier audits, and performance incentives—aligning agreements with business goals, regulations, and sourcing strategies. Their key responsibilities include:
- Leads the commercial and contractual strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals, regulatory standards, and sourcing targets.
- Acts as the primary expert on contract terms, interpreting clauses, answering queries, and delivering stakeholder training.
- Oversees contract compliance by developing and managing tools like obligation trackers and templates.
- Manages contract changes end-to-end—from initiation and impact assessment to negotiation, approval, and execution.
- Reviews supplier proposals and billing to ensure alignment with contract terms, pricing mechanisms, and cost optimisation.
- Leads issue and dispute resolution processes, acting as the escalation point for billing and performance concerns.
- Maintains the integrity of pricing schedules and ensures commercial optimisation of scope changes and extensions.
- Oversees supplier audits, exit planning, and ensures audit controls are in place per policy.
- Collaborates with Legal, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Business Owners to operationalise contracts effectively.
- Drives innovation and value creation through gainsharing mechanisms and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Manages sourcing budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting, including variance analysis and reconciliation.
- Ensures accuracy of all contract-related charges, authorises invoices, and manages chargeback processes.
- Works with Finance and Tax to implement financial controls, SOX compliance, and cost allocation strategies.
- Builds capability across the organisation by coaching stakeholders and embedding contract management best practices.
- Supports aligning commercial delivery with internal needs and enterprise-wide resilience.

- Preferred qualifications in UK law, accounting, or business administration
Key Skills/Capabilities:
- 5+ years in contract and commercial management within regulated, multi-business unit environments
- Proven track record managing Tier 1 service providers, including contract negotiation, financial control, and change management
- Strong experience with ITO and BPO contract terms and sourcing commercial models
- Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, and commercial document governance
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experienced in building teams and capabilities across direct and matrix structures
