We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to own the day‑to‑day accounting operations and month‑end close for a professional service business with entities in the US and UK, with branches in Europe, Canada and APAC. This is a hands-on role that would oversee all entities and provide the opportunity to develop your career as the business continues to scale. The role will report into the Financial Controller, who is based in the US and oversees the UK finance function. As the role will oversee the US finance operations, there will be a need to accommodate US work hours during certain times of the month.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the monthly and year‑end close for the UK and US entities delivering accurate and timely financial reports at a consol and individual entity level.
  • Maintain strong balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany, deferred revenue, cash, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Work closely with the FP&A team to identify variances to plan.
  • Maintain a strong control environment with clear documentation, policies, and checklists.
  • Manage the Revenue and AR team to ensure revenue recognised appropriately.
  • Oversee unbilled revenue, deferred revenue, and cut-off; ensure alignment with delivery milestones and signed SoWs.
  • Manage billing accuracy and timeliness; ensure correct tax treatment (UK VAT, EU VAT rules, and Singapore GST as applicable).
  • Manage collections and credit control, reducing DSO and aged debt.
  • Ensure customer accounts are reconciled, resolve disputes, and maintain clean AR ledgers.
  • Oversee AP processing, vendor master data, and payment runs; ensure appropriate approvals and segregation of duties.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and cash forecasting inputs; manage multi-currency bank accounts.
  • Coordinate with Group Tax on UK VAT returns, EC Sales, and overseas VAT/GST (Spain, France, Germany, Singapore).
  • Act as key point of contact for external auditors; provide schedules, samples, and walkthroughs.
  • Work closely with the Payroll team to review payroll related journals.
  • Support project work such as finance transformation initiatives, system upgrades, process automation and change management.
  • Help refine and document finance processes, maintain finance manuals, ensure appropriate documentation of policies, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with substantial post‑qualification experience.
  • Proven background in professional services (consulting, technology services or similar), with deep IFRS 15 practical application.
  • Strong track record across month-end close, AP/AR, multi-currency, and intercompany in a multi-entity international environment.
  • Experience of working with US businesses and multicurrency consolidations.
  • Experience coordinating UK VAT and overseas VAT/GST (Spain, France, Germany, Singapore) with local advisors.
  • Operate effectively in a modern ERP – preferably Netsuite.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, Power Query desirable); ERP proficiency essential.
  • Excellent stakeholder management: comfortable collaborating with FP&A, PMO/Delivery, Sales/CRM, and external auditors.
  • Attention to detail, high ownership, and a continuous improvement mindset.
