Beavis Morgan is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join on a 6-month fixed term contract. This role will be integral in stabilising the HR function, particularly in overseeing and developing the HR Advisor and Apprentice, both of whom currently require significant supervision, coaching, and performance remediation. This is a fixed term position, with the opportunity to extend or transition to permanent employment. The successful candidate will bring strong technical HR expertise, sound judgement, and the ability to lead on complex HR matters while delivering key projects that will enhance the firm’s people operations.
Key Purpose of the Role
- Provide immediate uplift in HR capability, with a focus on employee relations and operational quality.
- Strengthen HR operations and enhance service delivery.
- Deliver key HR projects, including work relating to the rollout and optimisation of HiBob and other people systems.
- Create bandwidth for the Head of HR to focus on strategic transformation initiatives.
- Support the development of junior HR colleagues through structured mentoring and day-to-day support.
- Help evolve HR into a proactive, business-aligned function enabling growth and change.
Key Responsibilities
- Employee Relations: Lead complex, sensitive, and high-risk ER cases, ensuring compliant, fair, and commercial outcomes.
- Change Management: Co-lead organisational change programmes—restructures, TUPE, and transformation projects—in partnership with the Head of HR.
- Workforce Planning: Partner with service line leaders to forecast and plan medium- and long-term resource needs.
- Manager Coaching: Strengthen people management capability across the firm through coaching, training, and one-to-one support.
- Policy & Compliance: Review, update, and embed HR policies to ensure legal compliance and firmwide consistency.
- HR Projects: Support and deliver projects involving: HiBob HRIS enhancements, adoption, and process design; Wellbeing and engagement initiatives; Inclusion and culture programmes; HR systems optimisation and process improvements.
- Introduce and embed best practice in HR operations and project delivery.
- People Development & Team Leadership: Line manage and mentor the HR Advisor and HR Apprentice. Provide structured coaching to build capability, confidence, and operational accuracy. Oversee performance remediation and drive consistent standards.
- Operational Resilience: Provide coverage across all HR operations, ensuring consistent delivery of onboarding, lifecycle processes, compliance checks, and reporting. Strengthen operational controls and reduce error rates.

Candidate Profile
- CIPD Level 7 (or equivalent experience).
- Strong generalist background with proven experience of leading complex ER cases.
- Demonstrable experience of delivering HR projects, ideally including HRIS implementations or enhancements (e.g., HiBob).
- Confident coach and mentor with experience developing junior team members.
- Strong operational discipline with the ability to influence, prioritise, and multitask effectively.
