We are now seeking an experienced and proactive Payroll Assistant to join our busy Payroll & Benefits Team. This is the perfect role for someone who enjoys processing end to end payroll, compliance and analysis. In addition, as a Beaverbrooks Payroll Assistant, you will also play an exciting role in supporting the rollout of payroll and HR solutions which will both aid with efficiencies and support our people.
Main Responsibilities
- End to end payroll processing for over 1000 colleagues ensuring full compliance and accuracy
- Ensuring correct and well thought out decisions are being made where necessary
- Involvement in reporting and analysis including National Living Wage and Gender Pay Gap
- Recording of absence and associated calculations including statutory payments and Bradford Factor (holidays, sickness, maternity, paternity)
- Timesheet calculations
- Attachment of earnings
- Assisting in reviewing payroll emails and carrying out actions as necessary
- Administration of employee benefits ie pensions & childcare vouchers
- Be a trusted point of contact and a go-to for payroll queries for your colleagues across the business and internal/external stakeholders
- General ad hoc duties to support the Payroll & Benefits department.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Ability to demonstrate the values and behaviours of the Beaverbrooks Way
- Experience in end-to-end payroll processing
- Working knowledge of National Living Wage and Gender Pay Gap compliance
- Proven ability to prioritise workload and meet objectives, working independently and as part of a team
- Excellent decision-making skills
- Able to embrace change as we move towards new software solutions and processes
- Excellent excel & data entry skills including vlookups
- Ability to build good working relationships through communication (both written and verbal) and the confidence to reach out to colleagues to advise on any queries.
DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Payroll experience from a multisite or a retail background
- Previous involvement with integration of Payroll systems and associated processes
- Managing benefits in kind through the Payrolling Benefits process
