This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and technical Security Engineer, to join a growing, award winning company, at their head offices in Basingstoke. The successful Security Engineer will be required to have a full-UK driving license as this role will involve ad hoc travel to other sites / data centres.

The Role

The Security Engineer will be joining the internal security team, working alongside an external SOC, in-order to support the business on all internal network security issues that arise. You will be an enthusiastic individual with a passion for all things security, with an eagerness to learn and develop. Outside of this, you will ideally have a broad range of skills with regard to network troubleshooting, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs and more.

The Security Engineer will be joining a well-established Managed Service Provider with ambition and a clear plan for growth. Vendor-neutral, their commitment to quality has seen them partner with over 1,000 UK businesses, varying in size and industry. The successful Security Engineer will work on a hybrid working basis, based in the Basingstoke office 3 days per week.

What’s Required?

  • Prior commercial experience within a security engineering role – ideally within a similar SME-sized organisation
  • Hands-on experience in the management of IDS/IPS, Firewalls, VPN, EDR/XDR, mail filtering and other security products
  • Experience of Security Information Event Management (SIEM) tools
  • Any experience or knowledge of ISO27001 as well as with penetration testing/vulnerability scanning would be highly advantageous
