About The Role

Before Beauty Pie, if you wanted really great beauty products, you had to pay hugely inflated ‘luxury beauty’ prices. But not any more. We make our exceptional, high-performance products in the same labs as other high‑end beauty brands (in France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Japan, Korea, etc) - and sell them for a lot less than you’d pay elsewhere. Because we believe everyone should have access to the very best in beauty - and get a bigger piece of the Beauty Pie.

The Role

We are seeking a sophisticated and energetic Supervisor to join our team within one of London’s most iconic heritage department stores, Liberty. We have newly entered our luxury retail era, and as shift Supervisor, you will be the face of our brand, bridging the gap between our digital roots and a world‑class physical shopping experience. Stationed at the heart of London’s beauty scene, you will lead a specialist team to “move the dial” on performance and prestige. This is not just a leadership role; it is a brand ambassadorship. You will provide bespoke cosmetic and skincare expertise to our members, ensuring our unique membership model is communicated with clarity and passion.

What You Will Bring

  • Experience supervising in a beauty retail setting.
  • Ability to confidently report and translate floor data into actionable insights regarding KPIs and sales trends.
  • Ability to foster Beauty Pie USP and educate visitors to the concession.
  • Experience leading and coaching teams of excellence.
  • Proven experience managing daily operations of a concession.
  • Provide an uncompromising eye for visual merchandising and housekeeping standards to ensure the concession remains “luxury‑ready” at all times.
  • Bring a track record of consistently meeting and exceeding commercial targets through a service‑led sales approach.
  • Deliver technical artistry within a retail setting, bringing a deep understanding of skincare ingredients and application.
  • An understanding of the membership‑based retail model and the ability to articulate its value proposition to a discerning clientele.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Assistant Manager with organising daily concession operations with excellence, including meticulous stock management and performance reporting.
  • Contribute to building relationships with Liberty management to collaboratively drive mutual results and high standards on the concession.
  • Assist in overseeing a team of Beauty Experts, delegating tasks effectively while fostering a high‑performance culture.
  • Manage a team of Beauty Experts across shifts, ensuring development, in‑moment feedback and daily rota management in the absence of the Assistant Manager.
  • Ensure achievement of daily targets and KPIs through team huddles and regular communication.
  • Promote new in‑store incentives, from initiation rollout to reporting, ensuring head office receives critical feedback needed to scale successful pilots.
  • Champion a high‑performance sales culture by leading through example, delivering exceptional service and coaching the team to maximise conversion, basket size and customer loyalty.
  • Deliver a “Member‑First” experience, setting a standard that differentiates us from traditional beauty brands, ensuring every interaction is personalised and unbiased.
  • Provide expert, professional advice across both skincare and colour cosmetics, tailored to the individual needs of current and future members.
  • Partner with the Social Media team to leverage in‑store storytelling and digital content creation as a key driver for membership growth and commercial targets.
  • Confidently navigate a fast‑paced, dynamic retail environment with composure, pivoting strategies quickly to meet changing floor demands.
  • Embody the Beauty Pie values, acting as a true champion of our mission to disrupt the luxury beauty industry.

Job Benefits

  • Bring your ‘A’ game: We bring a growth mindset as we disrupt the beauty industry. Showing up at our best, and never settling for average.
  • Be intelligently rebellious: We challenge industry and business norms with purpose, not ego. Bold thinking, creative problem‑solving and smart risk‑taking are how we transform beauty.
  • Bias for action: Speed matters. We act with urgency, make smart choices and learn through doing – because momentum drives progress.
  • Be customer obsessed: Our decisions begin and end with the customer in mind. We earn trust by delivering amazing quality and incredible value with an experience that consistently exceeds expectations.
  • It’s all for one (& one for all): We’re better together. Trust, integrity and collaboration are how we build a culture where everyone grows, contributes and thrives—individually and collectively.

How to prepare for a job interview at Beauty Pie

Show Off Your Customer Service Skills

Retail is all about providing an exceptional customer experience, so be ready to discuss your past customer service stories. We should have examples on hand of how we've handled difficult situations or gone above and beyond to meet a customer's needs. These anecdotes will bring your application to life!

Familiarity with Point of Sale Systems

Many retail roles require us to work with Point of Sale (POS) systems, so it's a good idea to brush up on any relevant software you’ve used before. If you’re familiar with systems like Shopify or Square, don’t forget to mention this during the interview. Highlighting technical proficiency can set us apart from other candidates!

Understand Product Knowledge

Be prepared to discuss the products that the store sells and how we can contribute to their sales. Showing enthusiasm for the products and a willingness to learn can impress interviewers. We should research popular items or trends in the industry before the interview, so we can speak confidently about them.

Be Ready for Role-Playing Scenarios

Many retail interviews include role-playing scenarios where we might have to deal with a difficult customer or upsell a product. Practising these scenarios with a friend or family member can help us feel more comfortable. The key here is to showcase our problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure!
