UK Clinical Operational Excellence Lead – Perioperative

12-month Fixed Term Contract

Remote/WFH with extensive travel to secondary care sites across the UK

Our client is one of the UK’s largest independent sector healthcare providers and they provide a range of innovative and expert healthcare services to NHS, private and insurance patients. With their own network of private hospitals nationwide and expert clinicians and surgeons within, they deliver more than 50 services from orthopaedics, ophthalmology, gynaecology, oral, spinal, weight loss to undertaking their own diagnostics and medical imaging. They are award winning and recognised for providing the highest level of quality, specialist secondary healthcare and excellent patient outcomes for over 50,000 patients each year.

Responsibilities

Reporting into the Medical Director for Secondary Care, you will:

  • Build relationships, foster openness, and honesty at the surgical centres with key stakeholders to include the Hospital Directors, Heads of Nursing across the UK
  • Travel to each secondary care setting and undertake full reviews of perioperative practices and processes at each site, devise and implementing a specific framework to undertake the assessment that you will personally undertake across all sites to draw upon best practices already in place.
  • Having undertaken a full review of each hospital’s perioperative process and procedure analyse the outcomes and devise a plan for standardisation of operational excellence.
  • Report to the Board and present your findings and recommendations for best practice and standard processes to be rolled out company wide.
  • Roll out and implement the plan to achieve healthcare excellence and standard operating processes, sharing these perioperative best practices and engaging with all key stakeholders to implement these across the hospital group ongoing to achieve standardisation.
Requirements
  • An experienced Head of Nursing, Hospital Director, Surgeon, Consultant or equivalent with a minimum of 5-10 years’ UK healthcare experience who has a demonstrable track record of delivering perioperative best practice and standardisation of operating processes in a secondary care setting.
  • Ideally will have identified best practice, areas of improvement and devised a strategy for perioperative best practice and subsequently rolled these out across multiple sites to achieve standardisation and operating excellence.
  • You will be an approachable, empathetic senior healthcare professional, motivated to achieve excellence in healthcare.
  • You will be motivated by delivering exceptional patient outcomes through best practice and process optimisation.
  • Willingness to travel to each site and undertake the assessments/best practice roll outs post review with overnight stays will be required.
  • An expert change manager in secondary care and able to influence stakeholders at all levels in a clinical setting and willing to challenge the status quo.
  • Immediate starts are available for the right person on a fixed term, 12-month contract
