Are you an experienced laboratory operations professional with a passion for leading teams and delivering exceptional laboratory services?

We are seeking a Laboratory Services Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day delivery of laboratory support services within a leading scientific research environment in London.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring laboratories operate safely, efficiently and in line with the highest operational and compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a laboratory support, laboratory technician or laboratory facilities role.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in a similar laboratory services or operations role, with a strong focus on delivering an exceptional employee and customer experience.
  • Previous experience supervising or managing laboratory operations.
  • Proven line management experience, including coaching, developing and supporting team members.
  • Experience working within a collaborative scientific or research environment.
  • A proactive leader with excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A collaborative team player who values building positive working relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Technical Skills
  • Proficient in the safe handling and segregated storage of flammable, toxic and corrosive chemicals.
  • Ability to safely change and connect compressed gas cylinders (inert and non-hazardous).
  • Familiar with the safe handling and use of liquid nitrogen (cryogens).
  • Basic operation and first-line maintenance of laboratory vacuum and cooling equipment.
  • Competent user of a chemical inventory management system or LIMS.
  • Good understanding of laboratory glassware washing, drying and siliconisation procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory Health & Safety, COSHH, quality systems and compliance requirements.
  • Role Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the laboratory support service.
  • Lead and manage the onsite Laboratory Associate team.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, training and development of laboratory associates.
  • Ensure laboratory services are delivered in accordance with agreed service levels and quality standards.
  • Promote a strong Health & Safety culture throughout the laboratory environment.
