About the Role

Hours: 4 on 4 off

Keep the site moving. Keep standards high. Work safely as part of the team. At Panda, our sites play a key role in helping customers manage waste safely, responsibly and efficiently. We’re looking for a reliable and hard‑working Site Operative to support the day-to-day running of our operation. This is a practical, hands‑on role where you’ll help sort, prepare, move and store waste safely, while keeping the site clean, organised and operating efficiently. As a Site Operative, you’ll be part of a busy site team where safety, teamwork and attention to detail matter every day.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Sorting, bulking and preparing waste for off‑site disposal
  • Baling plastic waste and supporting the preparation of recyclable materials
  • Bulking items such as paint tins and aerosols safely and correctly
  • Sorting non‑hazardous waste for landfill where required
  • Ensuring all waste is stored safely in the correct designated areas
  • Loading and offloading vehicles using a forklift
  • Assisting drivers with loading and unloading vehicles
  • Letting the technical team know when loads need to be booked out of site or skips need to be exchanged
  • Fulfilling orders in a timely and efficient manner
  • Looking after related plant and equipment
  • Accepting deliveries and ensuring they are dealt with correctly
  • Supporting general housekeeping across the site
  • Following safe systems of work at all times
  • Taking care to ensure your activities do not put yourself or others at risk
  • Supporting the wider site team with any other reasonable tasks as required

About You

  • Previous experience working in a similar site, waste, recycling, warehouse, yard or operational environment would be beneficial
  • Full UK driving licence is essential
  • Forklift truck licence is desirable
  • Reliable, hard‑working and comfortable working in a hands‑on role
  • Able to follow instructions and work safely
  • Good team player with a practical approach to work
  • Comfortable working in a busy operational site environment
  • Willing to support different tasks across the site when needed
