Purpose
The Cyber Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions to protect systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. This role involves proactively identifying vulnerabilities, responding to security incidents, and ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and NIS2. The Cyber Security Engineer will work collaboratively with the Head of Cyber Security and Risk, IT Teams and business teams to strengthen the organisation’s cyber resilience, enforce security best practices, and continuously improve Beauparc’s security posture.

Scope of Accountability

  • Supporting and enhancing Beauparc’s Security strategy
  • Ensuring all systems and solutions are configured to best practice and align to frameworks such as NIST, NIS2, ISO etc.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Perform a technical lead role within the Cyber Security Team
  • Ensure all necessary technical security controls are in place and implemented to best practice standards
  • In collaboration with the Head of Cyber Security and Risk, and technical peers, deliver cost effective security solutions, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and standards
  • Continually monitor, maintain and test our threat landscape and security posture
  • Perform regular reviews of our current security solutions and processes, identifying opportunities for optimisation
  • Support the business in maintaining and achieving several industry certifications, aligning where appropriate, including NIST, NIS, PCI/DSS, Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO2700
  • Provide expertise and support in troubleshooting, resolution, mitigation and reporting of any security incidents and root cause analysis.

Qualifications, Skills And Knowledge
The ideal candidate will have a very strong Infrastructure background (3+ years) with in-depth knowledge and experience of:

  • Azure Cloud and Microsoft 365 Security suites (including InTune)
  • Technical policy implementation
  • Design and implementation of enterprise-grade security solutions; Anti-malware, IPS/IDS, Firewalls, SD-WAN etc
  • Experience in managing TLS, SSL certificates, encryption, DKIM/SPF and DDoS
  • Microsoft and Linux operating systems
  • Strong understanding of security principles
  • Excellent communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience working in heavily regulated industries
  • Previous experience working within a Security function
  • Qualifications such as CCNA, CompTIA, ISC, ISACA
  • Scripting (KQL)
  • Experience of working with some/all industry certifications/frameworks such as NIST, NIS, PCI/DSS, Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO2700
