We are seeking a dedicated Baler Operative to join our team on a designated 12‑hour shift pattern. This is an exciting opportunity to support the growth of our business, and we’re offering competitive rates based on experience for the right candidate.
As a Baler Operative, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation and basic maintenance of channel press balers used to compress recyclable materials to specification. Your role is vital in supporting our mission of efficient recycling and environmental responsibility.
Key Accountabilities
- Operate and monitor baler equipment to produce compact, quality bales.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery; report issues as needed.
- Maintain accurate operational and maintenance records.
- Follow all site Health & Safety procedures and report any incidents or concerns.
- Ensure bales meet company and quality standards.
Experience And Skills
- Reliable, punctual, self‑motivated, and proactive.
- English literacy – Level 1 or equivalent.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Experience with channel press balers or similar machinery (advantageous).
- Engineering knowledge (desirable).
- Background in agriculture or similar hands‑on environments (desirable).
- Willingness to learn and upskill.
- Strong understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance.
- Comfortable working at height.
- Mobile Plant Licences – Forklift, Telehandler, or Loading Shovel (desirable).
