Location: North London | hybrid, 2–3 days per week on-site
Package: £85k–£95k base + bonus
You’ll be the technical and strategic lead for a growing team (currently 5 engineers - cloud, network and generalist 2nd/3rd line), reporting into an IT Director who is driving genuine change. The focus will be spearheading the move from traditional on‑prem infrastructure to a modern, Microsoft‑centric estate.
Key focus areas:
- Microsoft cloud & modern workplace: Azure Landing Zones, AVD, M365 tenant/domain consolidation and best‑practice adoption.
- Core infrastructure & networking: Cisco networking, hybrid infrastructure, DR/BC and operational resilience.
- Transformation & M&A: integrating multiple businesses and domains into a coherent, governed cloud and infrastructure model.
- Strategy & leadership: shaping the 60 month roadmap, building the team, and defining operating models, standards and governance.
High‑level responsibilities:
- Own the end‑to‑end infrastructure strategy (on‑prem, cloud, network, identity, end‑user).
- Lead, coach and develop the infrastructure team; act as final technical escalation point.
- Design and oversee delivery of Azure and M365 projects (AVD, Landing Zones, SAP/Oracle hosting).
- Work closely with the IT Director and the Global Business on standards, approvals and investment cases.
- Drive service improvement, risk reduction, cost optimisation and adherence to frameworks (ISO, Cyber Essentials, etc.).
We’re looking for:
- Senior infrastructure / cloud leader (Head of Infrastructure, Infrastructure Manager, Principal Architect or similar).
- Deep Microsoft background: Azure, M365, Identity (Entra ID/ADDS/B2B), modern workplace.
- Strong understanding of networking (Cisco) and hybrid environments.
- Proven experience in roadmapping, leading teams and owning delivery across multiple concurrent projects.
- Comfortable influencing senior stakeholders and working within a global/group governance model.
If you have a background in Microsoft-focused infrastructure leadership and want to shape a large‑scale transformation in a complex, real‑world environment (Azure, AVD, M365, networks), I’d like to hear from you.
