We’re seeking an inquisitive and motivated First Line Support Engineer to join our expanding support team at Wakefield. You’ll play a pivotal role as the first point of contact for customer issues across hosted telephony products (Zoom, Horizon, Webex, etc.) and broadband services. This is a growth role: we welcome those eager to learn, progress, and take ownership. We're pushing into Cloud focused Unified Communications technologies, there are loads of opportunities to learn new technologies as well as be the subject matter expert for the team. There’s great progression here, the current job holder has been promoted and we’re always looking for reasons to help our engineers grow their careers.

Role Highlights

  • Be the first point of contact for a range of technical queries related to hosted telecoms and broadband services (including Zoom, Horizon, Webex, etc.)
  • Take ownership of tickets from start to finish—investigating and resolving issues wherever possible, not just passing them on

  • Participate in and contribute to a positive, collaborative helpdesk culture

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience providing first line IT or telecoms support—ideally including exposure to Avaya, Mitel, 8x8, or similar systems
  • Demonstrates a passion for technology and delivering excellent customer service
  • Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and willingness to learn
  • Comfortable working onsite in the Wakefield area (potential flexibility for exceptional candidates)
  • Ambitious and keen to progress within the business (to second line, technical specialist, or even into projects)
