We're supporting a large, international organisation going through a significant period of technology transformation and they're looking for an Applications Manager to help shape where things go next. This role sits right in the middle of business change, enterprise applications and long-term strategy. You’ll be the person connecting the dots between the technology, the business and the people using it every day. The environment is complex, global and multi-site. There are multiple stakeholders, multiple workstreams and plenty happening. But for the right person that’s exactly what makes it interesting.
You’ll play a key part in large-scale programmes involving enterprise platforms including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and SAP SuccessFactors, helping ensure technology actually delivers value rather than becoming another system people simply have to work around. This isn't a role where you'll be handed a list of tickets and asked to keep things ticking over.
- Driving adoption and influencing stakeholders
- Making sure solutions remain scalable and fit for purpose rather than becoming over‑engineered headaches six months later.
- You’ll be working closely with senior business leadership, technology teams and external partners, acting as the bridge between what the business wants and what actually makes sense.
A big part of the role is around improving, optimising and creating consistency across the wider application landscape.
What they're looking for:
- You’ll probably already have experience delivering or supporting major enterprise applications in larger environments.
- You might come from a D365 F&O background.
- You might be stronger around SuccessFactors.
- You might have broader ERP exposure and understand how finance, supply chain, manufacturing and HR processes fit together.
- They’re far more interested in someone who can see the bigger picture than somebody who’s only comfortable staying inside one platform.
The type of person who tends to do well here:
- Comfortable operating with senior stakeholders
- Happy challenging ideas when needed
- Commercially aware and focused on business outcomes
- Structured but pragmatic in their approach
- Understands that standardisation is often better than unnecessary customisation
- Can balance strategy with actually getting things delivered
There’s a lot of visibility in this role and a genuine opportunity to influence the future direction of technology within a large organisation. If you enjoy ownership, transformation and being trusted to make decisions rather than simply execute somebody else’s, it’s worth a conversation.
