We are partnering with a leading financial services organisation to appoint an experienced Procurement / Commercial Manager on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract basis. Working closely with the Senior Procurement Manager and key business stakeholders, you will lead strategic third‑party engagements across allocated business units. This role combines procurement delivery, commercial negotiation, supplier management, and business partnering within a highly collaborative and fast‑paced environment. You will support the development and execution of procurement strategies across a range of Indirect categories, enhance supplier relationships, and ensure strong governance and regulatory compliance across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and delivery of procurement strategy across indirect spend categories.
- Lead procurement projects and commercial initiatives to deliver efficiencies and cost savings.
- Manage supplier relationships throughout procurement activities and contract lifecycles.
- Negotiate and execute complex commercial agreements with strategic suppliers.
- Build strong partnerships with business stakeholders and central functions including Legal, IT Security, and Financial Crime.
- Identify market trends, commercial opportunities, and innovative supplier solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement across procurement processes and ways of working.
- Support third‑party risk management and governance activities.
- Contribute to the development of a robust and commercially effective supplier ecosystem.
About You
We are looking for a commercially astute procurement professional with strong stakeholder management skills and experience operating within complex corporate environments. You will ideally have:
- Strong knowledge of strategic procurement and category management methodologies.
- Experience managing indirect spend and complex supplier relationships.
- Proven commercial negotiation and contract management experience.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities with the ability to translate data into actionable insight.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills across senior stakeholders.
- Experience delivering procurement savings and efficiencies against targets.
- Ability to operate effectively within matrix or virtual team environments.
- Experience within financial services or broader professional/services‑based organisations.
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of UK financial services regulatory and legislative frameworks.
- Relevant professional qualification such as MCIPS or MBA.
