Beaumont Park Medical Group is a long established GP Practice based in Whitley Bay, and we pride ourselves on maintaining a welcoming environment where both patients and staff feel valued and supported.

We are looking to recruit a Salaried GP to work 4 clinical sessions on a fixed term contract from 1st November 2026 till 31st March 2027. Proposed working days are Monday and either Thursday or Friday.

  • 6 week's annual leave [pro-rata] and 1 week's study leave [pro-rata], with paid CPD time.
  • Flexibility with start times of clinical sessions, with clinics comprising a mixture of face-to-face and telephone appointments.
  • Low visit rate due to PCN funded NEAS Home Visiting Service.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred care as part of our friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team. Duties will include:

  • Undertaking face-to-face, telephone and online consultations.
  • Managing acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Home visits where appropriate.
  • Reviewing pathology and correspondence.
  • Prescribing safely and maintaining accurate clinical records.

The post holder will work collaboratively with the wider practice and Primary Care Network (PCN) team, contribute to practice meetings, clinical governance, quality improvement activities and the delivery of enhanced services, while supporting the ongoing development of the practice.

Beaumont Park Medical Group provides primary care services to over 6,200 patients, with three long standing GP Partners, working alongside a multi-disciplinary clinical team including Advanced Practitioner, Practice Nursing and HCA Team, Pharmacy Team, First Contact Physio, Frailty Nurse and Social Prescriber. The clinicians are supported by a Reception, Administration and Secretarial Team.

In the 2026 National GP Patient Survey, we scored highly for our patient's overall experience of the practice. We are a member of Whitley Bay Primary Care Network, and aim to be a training practice in 2027, providing training opportunities for Doctors in training.

Primary key responsibilities:

  • The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population.
  • The provision of services commensurate with the primary care contract.
  • To clinically examine and assess patient needs from a physiological and psychological perspective and plan clinical care accordingly.
  • Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance.
  • Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations.
  • Effective management of long-term conditions.
  • To support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that promote healthy lifestyles and apply principles of self-care.
  • Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance.
  • Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload.
  • Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process.
  • Support the delivery of anticipatory care plans.
  • Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice.
  • Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required.
  • Be aware of your duties and responsibilities regarding current legislation and adhere to practice policies and procedures on Safeguarding Adults and Safeguarding Children.
  • Ensure compliance with the appraisal process.
  • Prepare and complete the revalidation process to remain fit to practice.
  • Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team.
  • Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, always promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

  • MRCGP Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent
  • JCPTGP Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)
  • Full GMC registration
  • Performers List registration
  • Disclosure and Barring Service Check
