Shaping and growing an established Private Client practice within a strategically focused and genuinely supportive Scottish partnership is uncommon within the Scottish Legal profession. A highly respected Scottish law firm is seeking to appoint a Private Client Partner to be based in the firm's Edinburgh office. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in the next phase of the firm’s strategic development and growth plans.

The firm is a Legal 500-ranked practice, recognised for its stability, long-term outlook and genuinely collegiate culture. This appointment forms part of a deliberate 2026 growth strategy designed to strengthen and further develop the firm’s Private Client offering across the Central Belt. This is a proactive appointment driven by strategic expansion rather than succession, with clear support from the wider partnership.

The firm already benefits from an established Private Client practice across its wider network, with Edinburgh forming a central part of its future growth plans. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape and develop the Private Client offering, supported by strong internal referral streams, an existing client base and a collaborative partnership. A portable client following would be advantageous, however not a prerequisite for this position.

The firm’s focus is on attracting an individual with the credibility, technical expertise and strategic vision required to grow the practice organically over time. The practice undertakes a broad range of high-quality, relationship-driven Private Client work, including succession and estate planning, inheritance tax planning, trusts and executries, and wealth structuring for high-net-worth individuals, families and business owners.

The majority of this work is delivered in close collaboration with colleagues across the firm’s corporate, property and family teams, enabling the provision of a fully integrated service to clients. This opportunity would suit an established Partner or a Senior Private Client solicitor seeking to step into partnership, an individual who can demonstrate strong technical capability, leadership qualities and the commercial awareness necessary to contribute to the firm’s continued growth.
