A specialist care provider is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join its multidisciplinary team supporting individuals with complex neurological conditions. Working across two well-equipped sites, the successful applicant will play a key role in delivering both individual and group therapy to residents at varying stages of rehabilitation, from slow stream recovery to long-term maintenance.
You will work closely with a team of physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, dietitians, psychologists, and care staff to develop and deliver tailored care plans that promote independence, wellbeing, and quality of life.
Key responsibilities:- Conduct neurological and MSK assessments and design person-centred treatment plans
- Deliver individual and group rehabilitation sessions
- Liaise with internal and external professionals to support care planning and discharge
- Record and evaluate outcomes and respond to residents' changing needs
- Attend reviews and external appointments as required
- Contribute to team meetings, care discussions, and staff training
- Ensure accurate documentation in line with clinical and organisational standards
- Follow all safeguarding and health and safety procedures
- Degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience with neurological conditions and occupational performance assessments
- Knowledge of upper limb splinting, wellbeing programmes, and ADL-focused rehabilitation
- Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills
- Positive, collaborative approach and commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork
- Valid UK driving licence (preferred)
- Familiarity with the Model of Human Occupation or Vona du Toit's Model of Creative Ability
- Experience in mental capacity assessments and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)
- Group therapy planning and facilitation experience
