An established and supportive care provider is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a solo placement children's residential home in Manchester. This is a meaningful opportunity to build a service from the ground up, with a strong focus on therapeutic, high-quality, child-centred care over occupancy targets.
You will take ownership of a brand-new home and work within a culture that values outcomes, placement matching, and staff development. This role suits a passionate and motivated leader who is committed to delivering exceptional care and safeguarding standards.
Key responsibilities:- Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and positive development of each young person
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the children's home
- Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing care team
- Promote collaborative working with families, professionals, and external agencies
- Set and achieve ambitious care and operational targets
- Maintain full regulatory compliance, including safeguarding and Ofsted standards
- Lead from the front and provide cover where necessary
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a supervisory or management role within residential childcare
- At least 2 years experience in a children's residential setting (ideally as Deputy Manager)
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete)
- Confident working with children and young people presenting with challenging behaviours
- Strong leadership, resilience, and team-building skills
- Willingness to be flexible and hands-on when required
