Planning & Renewables Senior Associate/Partner – Glasgow/Edinburgh. £100K – £150K (DOE) Excellent Benefits Package. We are delighted to partner with our client, a leading, highly regarded Legal 500 firm with a network of offices throughout the UK. Due to continued business growth an exciting career opportunity have been created for an experienced Planning /Renewables Senior Associate/Partner to further strengthen their established team. This opportunity can be based either Glasgow or Edinburgh. The successful candidate will work alongside 2 senior members of the Planning Team, as well as working closely with the wider team firm wide, on a range of planning and environmental issues including a portfolio of onshore wind appeals and s.36 applications. This role offers direct client contact with some of the largest and respected business clients within the industry, the quality and variation of work you will be involved with is excellent. You will also have the opportunity to visit clients, for site visits, attend planning inquiries, conferences and other BD events. The team is also involved in a range of other planning and environmental issues including in relation to housing, infrastructure, transport and retail projects. As highlighted, the work is both interesting and challenging, the successful candidate will frequently be involved in advising on novel points and unusual circumstances. There is also the opportunity to become involved in cross border work. It is crucial the successful candidate demonstrates the ability to think creatively, and is proactive handing all legal matters competently, getting to the bottom of the issue quickly, and deliver advice in a clear and straightforward manner is a must. You will be involved in business development activities of the team and a willingness to help build the business is essential. You will be expected to attend networking events and client pitches, as well is helping with tenders, articles, seminars and other profile raising activities. As well as ideally having had a planning and litigation experience, you must be committed to providing an excellent level of client service and to building a relationship with your immediate peers and other members of our renewable energy team.
