Hollywater School is a school for pupils aged 4-19 with complex learning needs. Role Overview
To support the delivery of physiotherapy and occupational therapy programmes for children and young people (ages 4–19) with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including physical, sensory, and developmental challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Therapy Support
- Carry out therapy interventions under the direction of qualified Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.
- Support students with mobility, postural management, sensory integration, and fine/gross motor skills.
- Assist in hydrotherapy, MOVE (once trained) and life skills programmes.
- Implement therapy plans in classroom, clinic, and community settings.
- Monitor and report on student progress and engagement.
- Prepare and maintain therapy equipment (e.g., standing frames, sensory tools).
- Support therapists in assessments and reviews.
- Maintain accurate therapy records and contribute to EHCP documentation.
Administrative Tasks
- Assist with scheduling therapy sessions and maintaining records and progress.
- Order and manage therapy resources and equipment.
- Support with documentation in line with school policies.
- Work closely with teaching staff, families, and external professionals.
- Contribute to student reviews.
- Promote inclusive practices and support whole-school therapeutic initiatives.
