With 120+ employees and an enviable client list, we’re now looking for our first Legal Counsel to take full ownership of legal oversight and risk management across the business.
This is a part-time position (around 20 hours across 5 days), ideal for someone who thrives on autonomy, variety, and applying their expertise across multiple areas of law in a fast-growing scale-up environment.
Day-to-day, your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring company-wide compliance with GDPR and data protection regulations
- Reviewing, negotiating, and managing commercial contracts and client terms
- Acting as a trusted advisor across teams, turning legal complexity into clear, practical guidance
- Drafting and maintaining employment contracts, policies, and staff handbook
- Supporting governance, insurance, and intellectual property protections (including trademarks)
- Advising on legal implications of new product features and business initiatives
We’re looking for someone with:
- Solicitor qualification in England & Wales (7–10 years PQE)
- Broad legal experience across commercial, data protection, and employment law
- A track record of supporting commercial teams and negotiating client contracts
- Strong communication skills — able to explain complex legal matters in plain English
- Sound judgment and pragmatism to balance legal risk with commercial agility
- Proven ability to work independently and make decisions in fast-moving environments
