Brixton, London Hybrid working model (3 days+ in office per week). Privately-owned companies play a vital role in the UK's economic growth, both locally and nationally. We're already the trusted data provider to central government, universities and local authorities, and public sector demand for high-quality private company intelligence is growing fast. We're looking for a Lead Account Manager to own our most strategic public sector relationships and set how we retain and grow them.

About Beauhurst: We're building the leading provider of private company data and analysis in Europe. Private companies represent 80% of private sector employment and over 90% of revenues across Europe. They are the engine of innovation and the source of most of the jobs and tax receipts in the economy. Yet for anyone trying to find, track or understand them, the data is a mess: outdated, inconsistent, scattered across thousands of sources, and impossible to verify by hand at any meaningful scale. We've spent 15 years fixing this. We use custom-built data extraction tools and pipelines, proprietary AI, and a team of 60+ in-house analysts to identify, extract, and verify data from thousands of sources, covering 20 million companies, 24 million people, 232,000 transactions, and 1,000+ new news articles a day. Our platform, API, and consultancy services are trusted by our clients to enable them to make better decisions, drive impact, set policy, reduce risk, and save time. Founded in 2010, we now cover every company in the UK, Germany and Ireland, and work with over 500 organisations across venture capital, major financial institutions, corporates, leading universities, and the Government. And we're not stopping here: we're continuing to scale across Europe.

The Role: This is a senior role that combines strategy and execution. You'll own our largest and most complex public sector accounts: government departments, combined authorities, Catapults and leading universities, with contracts worth £100k+ a year. These accounts work differently from the rest of our book. Contracts often run over several years and involve dozens of stakeholders. Budgets are set on the financial year, value for money has to be proven internally, and contracts usually go back out to procurement when they end. You'll build relationships well ahead of renewal, help clients show the impact Beauhurst has had, and know when a renewal needs a business case, a direct award or a tender response. Your job is to win those renewals, grow each account across departments and use cases, and turn what you learn into a playbook the rest of the team can use. You'll work closely with our Lead AE for Public Sector and senior leadership on pricing, product direction and how we approach re-procurement.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Owning our most strategic accounts: retaining and growing a book of our highest-value public sector clients, and negotiating multi-year agreements.
  • Proving impact: helping clients evidence the value of Beauhurst to their senior leadership and procurement.
  • Leading re-procurement: planning renewals a year or more ahead, and leading tender and framework responses (for example G-Cloud) when contracts come back to market.
  • Building senior relationships: engaging directors, heads of service and policy leads to understand their priorities, build realistic account plans around them, and help them make the case for Beauhurst internally.
  • Expanding our footprint: finding new departments, programmes and use cases to grow into, including positioning our API, MCP and consultancy services.
  • Contributing to strategy: working with senior leadership on pricing, territory prioritisation and what public sector clients need from the product next.
  • Working with Client Experience: partnering with our Client Experience team to ensure every user is trained, active, and getting value.
  • Mentorship: taking on Lead responsibilities will include owning team development projects. You'll be in charge of setting objectives with leadership, tracking progress, and holding the team accountable for delivering against retention and growth targets.

About you: As a minimum, you'll have:

  • 4+ years account managing large public sector organisations, ideally central government and universities, in a SaaS, data or consultancy-led business.
  • A consistent track record of renewing and growing accounts worth £100k+ a year.
  • Proven experience leading re-procurements, tenders or framework renewals to protect existing revenue.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching other account managers, formally or informally.
  • Clear evidence of being a self-starter: you've built or improved an account management approach rather than just followed one.

The traits that matter most:

  • Strategic and entrepreneurial: you see the bigger picture, build the plan and execute against it. You choose the pain of hard work now over the pain of failure later.
  • Deep public sector knowledge: you understand how government bodies operate across the local-to-central spectrum and you're credible with their senior leaders.
  • A natural relationship-builder: you take time to truly understand client strategy, build trust across large, complex organisations and know who really makes the decision.
  • Coachable and resilient: you actively seek out feedback, bounce back fast from setbacks and help others do the same.

Our offer: We're offering a competitive starting salary plus commission on your retention and growth targets. We also invest a lot in keeping our people happy and healthy, so as well as your salary, you'll also get:

  • A stake in the company: A generous options scheme for all employees, so you can share in the value and growth of the company that you help enable.
  • Healthcare: Our health cash plan will cover all of your day-to-day health and wellness needs, including medication, tests, scans, dental, and physio.
  • Free therapy: Sessions with any of our hand-picked counsellors, all on us.
  • Professional development: You drive your own development – if there's a book, training course, or event that would help your professional development, bring it to us and we'll foot the bill.
  • Events: Company-wide parties and away days, drinks every Friday, and regular team socials.
  • Subsidised travel: Season ticket loans, free railcards, and a cycle to work scheme.
  • Clubs: Whether you enjoy reading, padel, bouldering or biscuits there will be a subsidised club for you.
