If this sounds right up your street then read on…
About Beauhurst
We are building the leading provider of private company data in Europe.
Private companies represent 80% of private sector employment and over 90% of revenues across Europe. They are the backbone of our economy – creating jobs, driving innovation, and generating the tax receipts that enable government services. Yet finding, collecting, and understanding information about private companies remains a significant challenge.
We bridge this gap by providing our customers with comprehensive, up-to-date private company information. Our online platforms and API help our clients to discover, track and understand these companies. This empowers them to take informed action, whether they\’re offering services or funding to help companies grow, crafting supportive policies, or making better decisions through deeper understanding of the economic landscape.
We work with venture capital firms, big financial institutions, leading universities and the Government to help them find and work with companies that drive disruption and innovation across the economy.
The Role
Our Data team is vital in ensuring our data is of excellent quality. Our aim is to investigate companies and their activities, continually adding a wide range of data points, whilst working on a whole range of other important projects. To keep up with all of this growth, we need more lovely faces to join our Data team.
Day to day, your responsibilities will be to:
Fact find & research: go on a mission to find what services these companies provide, the products they sell, and who their clients are using company websites, press releases and the public record
Writing: turn this research into succinct & snappy company descriptions that help our clients understand them and help them grow into the next big thing.
Classify: put these companies into the right “box” by working out which of our 300 proprietary sectors they operate in (including AI, Augmented reality, Fintech, 3D printing & much more!)
Problem solve: apply an inquisitive eye & our in‑house methodology to figure out, for example: What stage do you think a company is at? Do you fully trust the accuracy of its filings or do you need to correct a probable mistake? Based on the limited information you have, does a deal look more like an investment or a buyout?
Don’t worry! We don’t expect you to be an expert on day one. You’ll receive about two months of thorough training, helping you to understand, create, and refine company data.
While the role doesn’t involve dataset manipulation, cleaning, or analysis, you’ll get to learn loads about the most innovative start‑ups, top performing established companies and the ecosystem that supports such an integral part of the economy in the UK and beyond. The data you create will be used by government bodies, investors and anyone interested in helping the most ambitious companies grow, recruit and innovate.
About you
This is an entry‑level position that will suit someone with a degree. Previous experience is a bonus, but not required.
At the very least, you will need to have/be:
- A great communicator: You’ll have excellent written communication, including correct use of spelling and grammar
- Autonomous: You’re happy to work independently and like figuring stuff out for yourself
- Problem‑solver & detail oriented: You are a natural problem‑solver, meticulous and with a keen eye for detail
- Team player: You enjoy working with people & have a good sense of humour
Our offer
We’re offering a competitive starting salary of £25k and an in‑depth training programme, ongoing for 2 months.
We invest a lot in keeping our people happy and healthy! So as well as your salary you’ll also get:
💰 A stake in the company: This is huge – everything you do will create value in the company that you will partly own
🩺 Healthcare: Our health cash plan will cover all of your day‑to‑day health and wellness needs
💝 Free therapy: Sessions with any of our hand‑picked counsellors, all on us
🎓 Professional development: You drive your own development – if you want to do some training, bring it to us and we’ll foot the bill
🎉 Events: Company‑wide parties and away days, drinks every Friday, regular team socials – what can we say, we enjoy each other’s company
🚅 Subsidised travel: Season ticket loans, free railcards, and a cycle to work scheme
🍪 Clubs: Whether you enjoy reading, padel, bouldering or biscuits there will be a subsidised club for you
🏠 Hybrid working: Ability to work from home up to 70% of the time (although you’re welcome to work in the office as much as you’d like!)
