We are seeking a highly skilled Paralegal to join our team. This role combines advanced legal support with compliance responsibilities and is ideal for someone with strong legal knowledge who wants to make an impact in a global organization. You will play a key role in contract reviews, compliance screening, template creation, supporting tender bids, handling company secretarial tasks, managing NDAs and intellectual property matters and acting as cover for Beaufort’s Legal Counsel when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft and manage commercial contracts and legal documentation.
- Develop and maintain standard templates for agreements and compliance documents.
- Manage NDAs.
- Assist with intellectual property-related matters.
- Provide legal support and act as cover for Beaufort’s Legal Counsel during absences.
- Support on tender bids, ensuring legal and compliance requirements are met.
- Assist with company secretarial duties, including maintaining statutory records and filings.
- Ensure compliance with global and local regulatory and legal requirements, internal policies, governance frameworks and Beaufort Values.
- Utilise external tools to screen potential customers, suppliers and third-party intermediaries for sanctions and regulatory compliance.
- Contribute to defining, implementing and improving compliance policies, procedures and processes.
- Design and deliver compliance training for colleagues and third parties, ensuring understanding of ethical principles, regulatory changes and Beaufort Values.
- Facilitate anti-bribery due diligence and maintain accurate compliance records.
- Identify and elevate legal and compliance risks appropriately.
Requirements Skills & Attributes
- Strong legal drafting and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information.
- Proactive, self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Strong IT literacy (MS Office and database systems).
Qualifications & Experience
- Law degree or equivalent legal qualification (essential).
- Previous experience in a legal or compliance role within a commercial environment.
- Familiarity with contract law, NDAs and IP processes.
- Experience with sanctions screening desirable.
- Knowledge of company secretarial practices.
