We are seeking a GFE Manager to provide accountable, compliant, and auditable management and maintenance of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) in accordance with MOD policy, contractual obligations, and company procedures. The role holds day‑to‑day responsibility for GFE assurance and accountability, operating as part of a close‑working, integrated team supporting MOD contract delivery.

While the post holder takes clear ownership for GFE assurance and governance, the role operates within a broader stores, logistics, and contract delivery team. Successful delivery is supported through close collaboration across MOD, customer, and internal stakeholders. The GFE Manager will also be involved in the control of prototypes and samples in support of wider sales and business development activity.

This role is suited to an individual who is comfortable holding responsibility for the assurance and accountability of Government Furnished Equipment, while working collaboratively within a supportive, contract‑focused team. The GFE Manager plays a critical role in ensuring MOD confidence, audit compliance, and asset integrity across the life of a number of contracts spanning Air, Land and Maritime domains.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
  • Hold responsibility for the assurance, control, and accountability of Government Furnished Equipment on behalf of the contract.
  • Receive, inspect, and formally accept GFE into company custody in line with MOD and contractual requirements.
  • Ensure GFE is correctly stored, secured, issued, moved, returned, and disposed of in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Ensure MOD GFE registers, MOD forms, and supporting documentation are accurately completed, maintained, and auditable in line with MOD GFE processes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records across approved systems to support contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure compliance with DEFSTAN 05‑099 and DEFCON 694.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for GFE matters and enquiries across the business.
  • Represent GFE interests confidently across operational, engineering, commercial, and contract delivery teams.
  • Support and host internal, customer, and MOD audits, providing evidence and assurance of compliant GFE management.
  • Identify, investigate, and escalate discrepancies, loss, damage, or non‑conformance relating to GFE.
Systems, Reporting & IT
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with strong overall IT capability.
  • Experience maintaining, interrogating, and reporting from ERP / MRP systems such as IFS (training will be provided where required).
  • Support the collation, validation, and submission of GFE data and reports in line with MOD reporting requirements.
Operational & Team Support
  • Work as part of a close‑knit stores and contract delivery team to ensure GFE availability supports operational requirements.
  • Prioritise workload effectively and manage competing demands in a dynamic, regulated operational environment.
  • Provide support to wider stores and logistics activities where required, maintaining focus on asset integrity and compliance.
Requirements
  • Strong organisational and administrative capability with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously while integrating effectively within a wider team.
  • Clear sense of ownership, accountability, and assurance.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage conflicting demands.
  • Confident communicator across multiple business functions.
  • IFS or equivalent ERP/MRP system experience.
  • Previous experience of GFE or MOD asset management.
  • Previous military stores or logistics experience welcomed.
