We are seeking a part-time Finance Assistant on a 12-month fixed term contract to support our Finance team based at our Ellesmere Port site.

Responsibilities

  • Managing daily accounting tasks and carrying out ad-hoc financial and administrative duties as requested by the Finance Manager.
  • Keep physical and digital filing systems neat, accurate, and audit-ready at all times.
  • Assist the finance team with month-end close by preparing accruals and prepayments schedules.
  • Process invoices: check, code, and enter supplier invoices and employee expenses into the accounting system.
  • Manage payments: prepare and run payment cycles (e. g., BACS) on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
  • Reconcile statements: match invoices to purchase orders and reconcile monthly supplier statements to clear any differences.
  • Vendor communication: act as the main point of contact for vendor inquiries, resolving any discrepancies regarding payments or missing invoices.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a finance or business administration role.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
  • High level of numerical accuracy and the ability to spot errors quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for building strong relationships with vendors and internal teams.

Full time for Beaufort is a 4-day, 36 hour week with Friday off!
