As a Waking Nights Support Worker, you'll support up to six young people aged 16‑25 in a safe, welcoming, semi‑independent home. You'll work lone nights, taking responsibility for the service, safeguarding, and emotional support until morning.
What You'll Be Doing
- Keeping young people safe and supported overnight
- Responding calmly to incidents, emergencies and safeguarding concerns
- Recording and reporting accurately, liaising with on‑call support
- Housekeeping duties, maintaining a clean, compliant and welcoming home
- Encouraging life skills, independence and future goals, providing emotional and practical assistance
- Being a consistent, positive role model
Requirements
- Confidence to work alone and make sound decisions
- Calm, resilient approach in challenging situations
- Empathy, patience and a trauma‑informed approach
- Experience with young people or vulnerable groups
- Strong communication, IT and record‑keeping skills
- Commitment to equality, safeguarding and professional development
Desirable
- Supported housing or social care experience

Hours – 42 hours per week, 9 pm‑9 am, 2‑week rota, alternate weekends off
