Bowel Cancer UK is the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity. We’re determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. We support and fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.

Job Summary
The Creative Design Officer is a dynamic, multiskilled role that will bring our charity's mission to life through compelling visual storytelling and thoughtful content design. This critical role sits within the Marketing and Communications department and works across teams to produce high-impact creative content that drives engagement, inspires action, and amplifies our voice.
This role is primarily focused on visual design, taking written content developed by others and transforming it into engaging, accessible, and brand-aligned visual materials for use across digital platforms, with occasional support for offline materials. From designing pitch decks, social media assets and paid ads to filming and editing videos, you'll be at the heart of our creative output, helping us communicate complex ideas with clarity, emotion, and purpose. Producing content that resonates with our audiences, elevates our brand, drives fundraising income and supports key organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of a project team and to a brief to develop and produce content and visual assets for internal and external audiences, including video, photography, animation, social graphics, digital assets and printed materials whether self-produced, produced within the team, or working with external suppliers.
- Champion our brand, including best practice for digital and accessibility. Ensure content and creative materials are high quality, meet the needs of different communication channels and audiences, meet accessibility standards, and are effectively evaluated.
- Support the Creative Content Manager to implement brand guidelines, ensuring our visual identity, messaging, tone of voice and style are used appropriately and consistently in communication materials.
- Work closely with teams across the organisation to help deliver digital content that is on-brand, timely and impactful. From reactive messaging, eye‑catching visuals to engaging video, tailoring content for different audiences and platforms to meet organisational objectives and drive fundraising income.
- Help manage our Digital Asset Management System, ensuring assets are easy to find and use, kept up to date or archived, and that we're meeting privacy and data protection responsibilities.
- Work with the Creative Content Manager and Senior Creative Designer to create, implement and maintain a branded suite of self‑service templates for use by teams across the organisation.
- Work closely with the Creative Content team and the wider Marketing and Communications team to analyse performance and efficacy of all content and creative, using insights to adapt and improve, and sharing learning with other teams to enable them to do the same.
