Job Summary

The Head of Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Brand is a pivotal role, responsible for driving a coherent charity-wide communications approach based on the needs of our audiences.

You’ll build and leverage the power of our brand to increase awareness, prompt action, drive income and create deeper and more meaningful connections so that more people affected by bowel cancer can find the support they need, and together we can achieve our vision of a future where nobody dies of bowel cancer, sooner.

This role will drive the foundations for organisational growth: a bold and confident brand voice, identity and messaging that cuts through and ensures bowel cancer gets the attention and support it deserves; a joined-up communications planning approach that gives us collective focus and ensures that everything we do and say is based on audience insight and supports our strategic goals; and the development of compelling campaigns, stories and content that bring our community together to create an unstoppable force for change.

  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team covering brand, campaigns, content and strategic communications, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity and continuous improvement.
  • Use audience insight, data and lived experience to shape strategy, evaluate impact and create the conditions for organisational growth and income generation.

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and at Bowel Cancer UK we are committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
