We are looking for a hands-on Team Leader with experience in welding or commercial vehicle bodybuilding to join a growing manufacturing business based in Rugby. If you know your way around a tape measure, MIG welder, and a crew of skilled bodybuilders, this could be the role for you.

You will be leading a small but busy team focused on building bespoke tankers, supporting the day-to-day running of the department while keeping quality, safety, and efficiency front and centre.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, support, and motivate a team of commercial bodybuilders, welders, and fabricators
  • Allocate work, check quality, and ensure jobs stay on schedule
  • Interpret technical drawings and communicate build requirements clearly
  • Work closely with the Production Manager and engineering team
  • Ensure all health & safety standards are maintained on the shop floor
  • Contribute to hands-on tasks when required; this is a working leadership role
What We Are Looking For:
  • Previous experience in commercial bodybuilding or vehicle build/fabrication would be desirable, although general fabrication/welding will be considered
  • Strong working knowledge of steelwork, welding, measuring, and fitting
  • Confident reading engineering drawings and allocating work
  • Prior team leader, supervisor, or senior fabricator experience
  • A proactive attitude, excellent communication, and a calm approach to problem-solving
