Senior Consultant – Technology Due Diligence in M&A
Join BearingPoint as a Senior Consultant in our Technology Due Diligence service, based in London. This role is part of BearingPoint Capital, a business unit that delivers M&A advisory on both the sell‑side and buy‑side. You will work on high‑impact engagements for private equity, family offices, corporates and strategic investors, where technology is central to their investment thesis.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and support technology due diligence engagements, evaluating IT strategy, architecture, infrastructure and organisational capabilities to assess technology maturity, scalability and alignment with business objectives.
- Support product due diligence, analysing product strategy, roadmap and feature differentiation, and benchmarking against competitors.
- Provide tech financials advice, including Opex/Capex analysis, synergy modelling, carve‑out costing, benchmarking and cost estimation to highlight financial implications of technology decisions.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop tailored proposals and sales pitches for prospective clients.
- Develop the M&A technology practice by refining methodologies, tools and knowledge assets, and mentor junior team members.
- Work cross‑border with colleagues across Europe in multi‑industry engagements, leveraging the global network for best practices.
- Support the execution of BearingPoint’s firm‑wide M&A strategy through internal portfolio reviews, venture investments and strategic initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 4–5+ years of relevant experience – at least 3 years in a senior business analyst or consulting role within a technology company with a complex IT landscape.
- Proven experience executing technology due diligence engagements.
- Experience with IT separation and integration projects (a plus).
- Strong financial acumen: demonstrated ability in IT Opex/Capex analysis, synergy modelling, carve‑out costing, benchmarking and cost estimation.
- Business‑oriented mindset, able to navigate ambiguity and deliver results under pressure.
- Collaborative team player with mentoring experience and a supportive team culture.
- Excellent communication skills, proven through high‑quality written reports and client presentations.
- MBA, Master’s or Bachelor’s degree from a leading university with a strong academic record.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
