THE ROLE
The Production Manager role is responsible for managing and coordinating medium to large scale projects for Bearded Kitten and Bearded Kitten Studios. This role ensures efficient, high-quality, and safe planning/pre-production of installations, exhibitions, live events, and brand activations assigned by the Head of Production.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Shape and manage all elements of a production from concept to delivery.
- Provide production specifications and costings for pitches, balancing creative ambition with practical delivery.
- Be client-facing and articulate proposed production methodologies clearly.
- Take responsibility for third party/subcontractor deliverables.
- Work alongside the in-house fabrication department for smooth delivery of custom assets.
- Review preferred suppliers and identify new partners.
- Work with Producers to ascertain staffing requirements and support booking freelancers.
- Coordinate sourcing and interviewing freelancers with the People & Culture Lead.
- Ensure projects are delivered to relevant H&S standards.
- Onsite production management during install and live events.
- Oversee financial control of production budgets and assist with budget reconciliation.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior production team members.
- Provide knowledge of scenic construction methods and materials.
- Be willing to work unsociable hours and travel as required.
THE PERSON
- Passionate about delivering events to the highest standards.
- International experience in events and installations.
- Experience managing teams and providing direction.
- Management experience of medium to large scale events in high profile locations.
- Proven supplier network with long-term relationships.
- Excellent estimating and budgeting skills.
- Broad understanding of technical production.
- Strong knowledge of scenic construction methods.
- Proficient in AutoCAD/Vectorworks/Sketchup.
- Willing to travel domestically and internationally.
