The predicted salary is between 40000 - 50000 £ per year.
We're looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic individual to join our Commercial Team in Oxford and to make a positive impact within our growing business. We undertake diverse and interesting projects ranging from traditional refurbishment projects to complex new build design and build, and everything in between. This role is a blend of office and site working.
About the Role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading or supporting the commercial delivery of our construction projects
- Managing all supply chain partner accounts from initial enquiry through to agreement of final account
- Working alongside the operational lead to ensure costs are controlled in-line with budgets
- Managing the value recovery process, ensuring timely submission and certification of applications for payment, and prompt submission and agreement of variations
- Leading or supporting the financial reporting process, including attending regular review meetings with the management team in line with company reporting timetable
- Leading or supporting commercial appraisal of design development and value engineering process
- Giving support, coaching, and mentoring to trainees and Assistant Quantity Surveyors as part of our development programme
- Promoting company vision, values and a culture of continuous improvement
- Communicating with colleagues, customers, consultants and sub-contractors in a warm and persuasive manner, adopting a style suitable for the audience and building a positive working relationship
What you will bring

- Ability to build rapport & good working relationships with supply chain partners, consultants and customers
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
- Natural inclination to being a team player and the drive to perform to the best of your ability
- Proficient in using Microsoft office software and keen to take on board new software
Experience
- You'll have relevant experience with a similar sized or larger construction company
- Demonstrable experience of being commercial lead on projects
- Competent with the JCT suite of contracts & workable knowledge of NEC contract forms
- Had exposure to or led two stage procurement routes
- Cost planning
