BEAR Scotland is a leading provider of Highway Maintenance services across Scotland. We manage and maintain over 2,000km of Scotland’s trunk road network, tackling just about every imaginable task and working round the clock to keep Scotland moving.
BEAR Scotland inspect, manage and maintain over 2500km of Scotland’s truck road network including 1500 trunk road structures in the North West of Scotland for our client, Transport Scotland. We work in some of the most scenic but challenging parts of the country on a variety of structures including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, gantries and masts.
An opportunity has arisen within BEAR Scotland’s North West Bridges Team for a Bridge Engineer to work in our Perth office. The role would involve working within a diverse team on the investigation, design, procurement and construction of various bridge maintenance schemes.
The Bridge Engineer will assist in the investigation, design, planning, procurement and construction management of bridge maintenance works on the network. The postholder will work with internal and sub-contractors’ resources.

Candidates should have experience of civil engineering design and as well as a knowledge of health and safety, environmental and commercial aspects of schemes. Candidates should be professionally qualified or working towards professional qualification.
We are looking for self-motivated individuals who are interested in progressing their careers by helping manage the delivery of a diverse programme of work. The successful candidates will have good team working and communication skills, be flexible and hold a valid driving licence.
Applications will also be considered from Graduates or Senior Engineers who would be given an appropriate role.
