Support Worker – Supported Accommodation (16–18) - £12.71p/h + £65 Sleep – North of England (Preston, Chorley and Wigan)
Are you someone who can build trust, stay calm under pressure, and support others to move forward? Bear Care Services, a leading supported accommodation provider, is looking for a Support Worker to join a service supporting young people 16–18. This is a hands-on role where you’ll help young people develop independence, confidence, and life skills in a safe, supportive environment.
You’ll be working directly with young people, supporting them day-to-day while helping them prepare for independent living. No two days are the same — you’ll be involved in everything from practical support to emotional guidance. This role is based in a residential supported accommodation setting and includes shift work, evenings, and weekends.
Supporting Young People- Deliver and support individual support plans tailored to each young person
- Provide consistent emotional support and guidance
- Follow all safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Report and respond to any concerns around safety or wellbeing
- Maintain accurate records including daily logs, incidents, and support plans
- Help ensure the home is safe, clean, and well-managed
- Support young people into education, training, or employment
- Encourage participation in social and community activities

Experience- Experience in supported accommodation, social care, or work
- Ideally experience supporting young people 16–18
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Level 3 or 4 Health and Social Care (or working towards)
- Level 5 Health and Social Care
- Experience supporting young people with complex needs (mental health, behavioural challenges, substance misuse)
- Ongoing training and funded qualifications
