Belfast’s newest restaurant, Ru, is looking for a talented and driven Sous Chef to join our opening kitchen team. Born from two rich food cultures, Ru blends bold Indian flavours with exceptional Irish produce. Our menu is a modern interpretation of Indian cooking — vibrant, seasonal, and designed for sharing. Located on Ann Street and open for lunch and dinner, Ru will be the first to open amongst a number of adjoining venues, including a pub, cocktail bar and terrace, vinyl listening bar and club space in 2026. This is a chance to be part of something new from the ground up, working with high-quality ingredients and contributing to a creative, ambitious kitchen. If you’re passionate about food, eager to lead and develop a team, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Health and wellbeing initiatives, including a free counselling programme
  • Company discount offering 20% off food in various outlets including Bullitt Hotel, Little Wing Pizzeria, Ragin Ramen, The National and the Cloth Ear
  • Structured learning and development plans through our online CPL training programme
  • Varied training opportunities including NVQs, WSET, First Aid, Mental Health Awareness, etc.
  • Team bonding events such as our summer BBQ, Winter Raffle, seasonal parties, trips, and award ceremonies

What you’ll do:

  • Support the Head Chef in managing the kitchen and leading the team through service
  • Ensure dishes are prepared and presented to the highest standard
  • Maintain consistency and quality across all service periods
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and cost management to minimise waste
  • Train, mentor, and support junior members of the kitchen team
