Join our team and help keep our hotels, bars and restaurants running smoothly! We’re seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Handyman to join the maintenance team at Beannchor, one of the largest hospitality groups in Northern Ireland. In this hands-on role, you will play a key part in maintaining the high standards of our customer-facing areas and back-of-house facilities by carrying out a wide range of maintenance, repair and upkeep tasks across our venues.

Job type: Full time, permanent

Hours: 32 per week (4 days)

Please note that this role will require the successful candidate to work closely with the wider maintenance team to complete planned and reactive maintenance work across our portfolio of city centre venues, including Bullitt Hotel, The National, The Dirty Onion, Ulster Sports Club and The Merchant Hotel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general maintenance and repair tasks across guest rooms, public areas and service areas
  • Undertake minor plumbing, joinery, painting, decorating and basic electrical maintenance where appropriate
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure facilities remain in excellent condition
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to prioritise and schedule work effectively
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety standards
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
  • Assist with setting up and supporting venue projects, refurbishments and improvement works as required

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Proven experience in a general maintenance, handyman or facilities maintenance role (minimum 2 years preferred)
  • Practical skills across a range of trades including basic plumbing, joinery, decorating and general repairs
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance issues
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • Friendly, professional attitude with a team-oriented mindset
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends if required
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Relevant trade qualification (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent)
  • Experience working within a hospitality, hotel or commercial environment
  • Basic electrical or plumbing qualifications
  • IPAF, PASMA or other relevant maintenance certifications
