About The Role

Are you a highly organised and detail-oriented operator looking to be the backbone of our trust and safety function? We are looking for a Regulatory Operations Executive to work directly with our Chief Information Security Officer. In this hands-on, highly operational role, you will ensure that Beam meets the highest standards of trust, safety, and regulatory compliance. You will be the guardian of our core accreditations, including SOC 2, ISO 27001, GovRamp, and potentially medical device standards, ensuring our systems and practices are airtight.

This isn't your typical compliance role. We’re a small team and we sit across the entire business – in a typical week we might look into a suspected data breach, run training for new joiners, brief customers on our security stack, brainstorm new feature risks with the product team, and refine our remote working policy with the people team. We are keen to use AI to automate wherever we can, encouraging you to find efficiencies.

Your focus will be on high-accuracy review, strategic vendor assessment, and maintaining essential risk registers. This is an incredible opportunity to learn the ins and outs of our technical architecture, master project management, and play a pivotal role in unblocking major deals for our sales team.

  • Managing compliance documentation: reviewing and refining responses to technical security questionnaires and privacy assessments, ensuring exceptional accuracy and speed for our customers.
  • Maintaining core accreditations: taking ownership of our ongoing compliance with SOC 2 and ISO 27001, while helping to lead cross-company initiatives to acquire new standards like GovRamp or ISO 42001.
  • Owning vendor risk: working with stakeholders across the company to identify new vendors, assess their role, and complete thorough due diligence.
  • Empowering the sales engine: acting as the go-to expert for our sales and legal teams, answering critical trust and safety queries to help close deals swiftly.
  • Driving operational excellence: maintaining our risk register, agreeing on action plans with risk owners, and running regulatory operations with a high degree of structure, discipline, and consistency.

You are:

  • A detail-oriented operator: you have a sharp eye for detail, easily spotting and fixing small mistakes, and you take pride in churning through complex data and questionnaires with precision and consistency.
  • A reliable independent worker: you are a dependable executor who just gets the job done, not needing constant hand-holding, but you are also a fantastic, collaborative teammate.
  • Technically curious: you are comfortable navigating dense technical questionnaires and eager to learn the details of how data flows across our product infrastructure.
  • A clear communicator: you effortlessly engage stakeholders, break down compliance nuances, and are an active, empathetic listener.
  • Process-driven and organised: you are highly capable of juggling multiple projects and priorities while keeping all stakeholders informed.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with risk management and compliance, specifically ensuring the implementation of minimum viable controls.
  • Strong project management capability, juggling multiple competing demands.
  • Confidence in customer-facing situations.

Perks:

  • Generous EMI-qualifying share options
  • Access to therapy, coaching, classes & content – powered by Oliva
  • Your own financial well-being coach, through Bippit
  • Generous holiday – 25 days with 3 additional days over the Christmas period + bank holidays
  • Work remotely up to 6 weeks a year
  • Eligible for a 6-week sabbatical after 3 years in service
  • Nursery scheme through Gogeta
  • Healthcare cover through Benenden Health
  • Enhanced parental leave: Primary Caregiver leave 18 weeks and Secondary Caregiver leave 4 weeks
  • £200 WellBeam budget for activities enhancing wellbeing and professional development
  • Annual membership to Shoreditch Exchange gym (London office only)
  • Pension scheme where we contribute 3% of your salary and you contribute 5%.
  • Free subscription to the Calm meditation app
  • Discounted bike and accessories with Cyclescheme, and tech products with Techscheme

Compensation Range: £35K – £45K
