About the role
Weâre looking for a Caseworker to transform the lives of disadvantaged people by supporting them into stable jobs and homes. Youâll be joining a team of values-driven and creative caseworkers while being individually responsible for supporting a caseload of people referred to Beam - our âmembersâ. After an immersive training period, youâll help our members to picture a brighter future before guiding them through concrete steps to achieve their goals. That means everything from teaching critical skills - like CV writing or house hunting - to coaching and developing vital levels of self-confidence.
As a Caseworker at Beam, you will have the opportunity to support people into independence - this could be through securing a stable job, home or by helping them build on critical skills like IT, self-confidence and more. Casework generally involves supporting people into a job or a home - sometimes both! - and you may find yourself transitioning between these two vital roles, all the while leveraging your strengths and building innovative solutions to better support our members every step of the way.
- Crafting personalised action plans - to support people into stable homes and jobs.
- Supporting vulnerable individuals - using our AI-powered caseworker technology and your excellent caseworker skills to empower members to reach their goals.
- Working towards targets - ensuring measurable progress and impact in the lives of our members through job starts, secured homes and more.
- Harnessing technology to amplify your impact - youâll learn to harness platforms like G-Suite and AI tools to increase efficiencies and ultimately better support your members.
- Running remote and in-person meetings - youâll often be supporting your members in-person which might require some travel (up to several times per week).
- Wearing your problem-solving hat - the people we support have unique barriers and youâll regularly research and find creative ways to overcome them and hunt down the best opportunities for progression.
You are
- Compassionate - youâll need to be equipped with strong listening skills, genuine compassion and a super positive attitude to support members navigating very challenging times.
- Confident and have strong communication skills - youâll set boundaries and clearly communicate with a diverse group of people, from members and landlords to internal stakeholders and our government partners.
- Adaptable and resilient - youâre someone whoâs energised by ever-changing and fast-paced environments.
- An âideas personâ - changing lives is not easy, and youâre someone who loves hard challenge driven to find new and better ways of doing things.
- Experienced multitasker - youâll need to be comfortable managing numerous cases simultaneously, ensuring progress for each individual.
- Respect for data-driven decision-making - alongside your humanity, youâll appreciate the importance of acting on data.
